About Me
I have been practicing yoga since 2001 and qualified as a teacher in October 2013. I am accredited through both the Yoga Alliance (RYS-200) and the British Wheel of Yoga, studying under Elena Voyce of Teach Yoga Limited.
I have been an avid sports enthusiast for as long as I can remember. With a passion for running, I have completed the London Marathon six times as well as countless 5k, 10k and half marathons. I have experienced, first-hand, the benefits yoga can bring to performance with improvements in strength, pace and endurance. The most noticeable difference has been the end to a string of running injuries since incorporating a regular yoga practice into my training regime.

Yoga Sports Coachâ„¢
I am certified as a Yoga Sports Coach™ with The Institute of Yoga Sports Science® (YSS) https://www.yogasportscience.com/.
YSS actively researches the efficacy of how yoga works in sport, offering a certification course to qualified professionals where they learn the methodology and evidence-based sports-specific techniques that have been helping athletes improve their performance since its formation in 2009.
The YSS method works with athletes to target specific individual or team objectives, whether they be aimed at preventing or assisting recovery from injury or enhancing specific performance goals.

My Classes

I taught in London for 8 years before relocating to the North Kent coast in late 2021.
Current classes are held as below:

SNAP FITNESS:
1 hour classes are held in Herne Bay at SNAP, CT6 6GZ every Monday at 9:15am, Tuesday 7:15pm and Thursday 10:45am. I also run a beginners 30 minute session on Mondays at 10:20am. (SNAP Fitness gym membership needed).

HERONS LEISURE CENTRE:
From November 2025 I will be teaching two 55 minute classes at Herons in Herne Bay, CT6 5NX every Thursday at 17:30 (yoga for all), 18:30 (yoga flow). Classes are included in the membership fee but non-members can pay per class.

ONLINE:
I have kept my weekly online class going since COVID which has allowed me to stay connected with my London based students, some of whom travel for their work so the classes are regularly attended from across the world.
Each of my sessions is planned with a logic to prepare and open the body gradually towards a peak posture or sequence, training my students to use their breath to lead their movement.
I also teach one-to-one sessions (within a reasonable distance of Herne Bay) tailored specifically to the individual's needs. This might be:
-
a regular yoga practice if you don't enjoy group classes
-
to complement training for other sports
-
part of a specific programme for those with medical conditions or those recovering from illness or injury.
My students range from complete beginner to athletes competing in various sporting disciplines; most commonly runners, climbers and cyclists, but anything goes. I take care to offer something for all levels. I encourage students to challenge themselves, whether that means developing a more physical practice or challenging the more competitive students to be gentler with themselves.

Jane has a great sense of fun and brings a playful element to her teaching.
Jane has also co-hosted a yoga retreat just outside Granada, Spain for several years for those students wanting to explore the wider aspects of yoga and hopes to run more in the future.
